Goods and Services Tax ( GST )
1 Goods and Service Taxes(GST) can be remitted through the following modes in our Bank-
  • GST collection through Over the Counter (OTC) payments – The taxpayer can submit the challan to any of the Canara Bank branches. The payment can be done through Cash/ Cheque or DD.
  • GST collection through NEFT/RTGS – The taxpayer can visit any branch for GST remittance through NEFT/ RTGS.
  • GST collection through Internet Banking/ Mobile Banking – The taxpayer who is registered with the Bank’s Corporate/Retail Internet Banking/ Mobile Banking.
  • GST Collection through “UPI” – All GST users including Canara Bank customers can make GST remittances seamlessly through this facility.
  • GST Collection through “Credit/ Debit Card” – All GST users including Canara Bank customers can make GST remittances seamlessly through this facility.
2 Procedure for payment through Internet Banking :
  • Fill-up the challan in the GSTN site by accessing the above link. Upon filling up the challan , taxpayer will be presented with different payment options including Net banking option.
  • Upon selecting the option as Net banking and Bank as Canara Bank, taxpayer will be redirected to bank’s GST e-payment module.
  • Enter the text as displayed in the screen and click on "Proceed". It will display the details as received from GSTN. Click on "Proceed for Login".
  • It will redirect the user to internet banking portal for making the payment . The user will be prompted to login with his/her internet banking user id and password.
  • Confirm the payment by entering the transaction password.
  • Upon confirmation , transaction will happen . Upon successful completion of transaction taxpayer account will get debited and taxpayer will be redirected back to GSTN portal.
  • The taxpayer can download the receipt from the GSTN portal.

As per the guidelines the GST internet banking transactions completed upto 8.00 pm will be accounted for the current day. The transaction completed after 8.00 pm for the day will be accounted for the next day.

3 Procedure for Payment Through UPI:
  • Step 1: Login https://payment.gst.gov.in/ for creation of the GST Challan.
  • Step 2: After filling the requisite challan details. User needs to Select the Payment Modes “E-Payment”
  • Step 3: Click on Generate Challan & user needs to Re-Enter GST Number for Challan Generation and click on Proceed.
  • Step 4: User needs to click on “BHIM UPI” and select “CANARA BANK” and proceed for Making payment.
4 Procedure for Payment Through Credit/Debit Card:
  • Step 1: Login https://payment.gst.gov.in/for creation of the GST Challan.
  • Step 2: After filling the requisite challan details. User needs to Select the Payment Modes “E-Payment”
  • Step 3: Click on Generate Challan & user needs to Re-Enter GST Number for Challan Generation and click on Proceed.
  • Step 4: User needs to click on “Credit/Debit Card” and select “CANARA BANK” and proceed for Making payment.
